The anime airing at diomedéa is being directed by Shingo Tamaki (Aho Girl, Ahiru no Sora). The light novel series and its manga adaptation were both licenced by Yen Press. As Yen Press puts it, the narrative is

Princess Anisphia defies the expectations of the aristocracy despite her alleged incompetence with conventional magic by creating “magicology,” a novel magical theory based on recollections from her previous existence. One day, she observes Euphyllia, a bright noblewoman, being wrongfully dethroned as the kingdom’s new ruler. At that point, Anisphia devises a scheme to restore Euphyllia’s reputation that inexplicably includes them cohabiting and studying magic. These two women had no idea that their accidental meeting would change not only their personal destinies, but also the fates of the kingdom and the whole globe!
The narrative was serialised on the Shsetsuka ni Nar website by Piero Karasu from February 2019 through June 2020. The epilogue chapters for the August 2020–August 2021 portion of the tale were afterwards written by him. In September 2020, he also penned the prologue chapter for the whole novel. The first print edition of the tale, which had drawings by Yuri Kisaragi, was released by Kadokawa in January 2020. On January 20, Kadokawa will release the sixth novel volume.

In July 2020, Harutsugu Nadaka debuted a manga adaptation of the books in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh publication. The manga’s fourth collected book volume was released by Kadokawa in August 2022.

The first novel volume was released by Yen Press in April 2022, while the first volume of the manga’s compilation books was released in May 2022. On December 13, Yen Press released the third book and manga volumes. On April 18 and June 20, respectively, the fourth novel volume and the fourth collected book volume of the manga will be released.
