Kodansha’s Evening Manga Magazine to Cease Publication
Evening has existed for twenty years. Kodansha’s Evening Manga Magazine to Cease Publication in February 2023.

The last edition of the Evening manga magazine, published by Kodansha, will be released on February 28, 2023, according to the website for the magazine. The seinen-oriented magazine is now serialising popular manga series including Futari Solo Camp and 37 Year Old Kindaichi Case Files.

Beginning as a special issue of Kodansha’s Morning magazine, Evening subsequently developed into Monthly Evening in 2001 before becoming a bi-weekly newspaper with a separate editorial division from Morning in 2003.
Popular series like Hiroya Oku’s Inuyashiki, Masayuki Ishikawa’s Moyashimon, Yasuhisa Kubo’s You’re Being Summoned, Azazel, and many more have been published in Evening. With the editorial department being remerged with Morning. The series that are now being serialised in Evening will migrate to Kodansha’s Comic Days! platform.

Even though the magazine’s editorial staff hasn’t offered a cause for ceasing publication. Evening’s circulation has decreased from 115,617 copies every two weeks in 2015 to about 42,000 copies in September 2022.
