Jujutsu Kaisen: Choso Is the Best Example of What a Jujutsu Sorcerer Should Be

The characters in Jujutsu Kaisen are all well-developed and interesting, and they all have significant roles to play in the story. One of these characters, Choso, is at the very heart of the plot’s major themes. Choso was first introduced as a supporting figure associated with figures like Mahito, Jogo, and Hanami. Like many of the other generic cursed spirits, Choso appeared to be nothing more than a challenge for the Jujutsu sorcerers to overcome.
Eso and Kechizu, the two brothers of Choso, were introduced and then promptly murdered out by Itadori Yuji and Nobara Kugisaki. The elder brother’s logical next step looked obvious after that: a straightforward vengeance scheme against Itadori. However, when Choso finally got the chance to exact retribution and his actual nature was exposed, the whole presumption about his character was turned on its head.
Choso’s Original Alignments Shifted Completely in Jujutsu Kaisen’s “Shibuya” Arc

When Choso and Itadori ultimately faced up in Shibuya, a startling revelation about Choso’s relationship to Yuji via their association with Kenjaku was made known to Itadori. Given the option to finally kill Yuji after defeating him in their battle, he opted to decline since his mind, body, and soul sensed something was amiss. Blood link is his innately cursed skill. Choso comprehended why his body prevented him from exacting retribution after entirely leaving the battle.
Itadori and Choso are both still alive as a result of Kenjaku’s experiments; when this information was put together, Choso’s mind gave him a fake recollection of him, Itadori, Ezo, and Kechizu eating together. Following this, Choso entirely changed his strategy from battling with the cursed spirits invading Shibuya to teaming up with Itadori and other sorcerers who had previously been his opponents. He even completely pardoned Itadori for murdering his siblings after realising that he was just as unaware of the truth as Choso had been.
Choso Cares for Others Despite His Own Past

The goal of Choso’s persona is to demonstrate how, despite the tragic circumstances of his life as a human/curse hybrid created by evil experimentation, he still chooses to offer compassion for others. Choso is the only character to have sided with both sides of the struggle inside Jujutsu Kaisen, so he has a unique understanding of both sides better than anyone else. The elder brother is fundamentally harmed by everyone, yet he has no ill will toward people, curses, or sorcerers. Choso had no desire to commit murder without a personal stake in the outcome, in contrast to the gang of curses he had previously allied with.
Like any other individual with a healthy outlook, Choso decides to fight exclusively for causes that matter to him and against those that endanger him. Choso is one of the more prominent characters despite being introduced as a supporting figure with a modest amount of influence within the backdrop of the plot. He has shown his ability to push himself to the brink repeatedly in order to fight for the causes he is passionate about, often shocking much stronger personalities in the process.
This is how Choso and Itadori are similar; both are constantly denigrated by the main adversaries Sukuna and Kenjaku, yet both work hard to become stronger and disprove their detractors. They both stand up for the causes they are passionate about and are morally upright. Choso, on the other hand, is adept at navigating the treacherous Jujutsu environment. He is unquestionably the one cursed energy user that others should aspire to be with all of this accumulated.
The moral conflict between selfish and unselfish actions is one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s central themes, and Choso is the character that comes closest to striking a balance between these two extremes. In Choso, Kenjaku, the embodiment of everything that is negative in Jujutsu culture, found the ideal moral counterpoint to himself.
