Japanese Fans Name Lycoris Recoil as the Top TV Anime
Chainsaw Man places fourth.

Chainsaw Man, Attack on Titan, and surprise successes like BOCCHI THE ROCK and Ya Boy Kongming all had enormous years in anime in 2022. The top TV anime of 2022, as chosen by the website’s users, was announced today by the Japanese anime website AnimeAnime.jp as a way to wrap out the year.
The website polled 8,271 respondents, more than in previous years, with a gender split of 55.2% men to 42.5% women. 44.2% of respondents to the survey were under the age of 19, 11.7% were between the ages of 20 and 24, and 7.4% were between the ages of 25 and 29. 36.7% of the population was 30 or older. Between December 1 and December 12, the poll was taken.

Keep in mind that neither Crunchyroll nor the survey were involved, but we are just as curious in the opinions of Japanese fans as you are.
Following are the top 10 outcomes:
- My Dress-Up Darling
- Mob Psycho 100 III
- My Hero Academia
- Season 6 are affected by summer time
- FAMILY Chainsaw

It’s surprising that the original Lycoris Recoil TV anime won out over SPY x FAMILY and even this season’s favourite BOCCHI THE ROCK!, but the Shingo Adachi-directed film received a tonne of praise from Hideo Kojima, the man behind the beloved video game series.
Whatever the case, I believe we can all agree that 2022 was a fantastic year for anime, and 2023 will aim to equal or perhaps top it!
