Hulu Streams English-Subtitled Trailer for Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown Anime
On Saturday, the Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown sequel anime’s English-subtitled trailer debuted on Hulu’s official YouTube account. Beginning on January 7, the streaming service will start broadcasting the anime in America.

On January 7 at 26:08 on the MBS channel, the anime will make its debut (effectively, January 8 at 2:08 a.m. or January 7 at 12:08 p.m. EST). Additionally, the anime will air on 31 additional affiliates in addition to TV Tokyo, AT-X, ATV Aomori TV, UTY TV Yamanashi, and RSK Sanyo Broadcasting Co., Ltd. Beginning on January 7 at 27:00 JST, the programme will be streamed in Japan on the Disney+ platform (effectively, January 8 at 3:00 a.m. or January 7 at 1:00 p.m. EST).
Disney had said in November that it will broadcast the anime exclusively (Disney owns Hulu). Although previous anime films have been broadcast in other areas on Disney’s other platforms, the anime will only be available to watch in Asia beginning in January on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar. This is a part of the expanding cooperation between Disney+ and Kodansha, which also involves licencing exclusive anime series based on Kodansha manga. (Editor’s note: Websites like Variety, a site covering entertainment news, do not include the anime available in January in the United States on Disney+.)
Mikako Komatsu plays Yuzuha Shiba in the anime, while Tomokazu Sugita plays Taiju Shiba.
The manga’s English release from Kodansha USA Publishing provides the following plot summary:
Takemichi Hanagaki learns from the news that Hinata Tachibana, his middle school sweetheart, has passed away. His one and only sweetheart was just murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang, an evil organisation. His six years younger employer treats him like an idiot, and he lives in a run-down apartment with flimsy walls. Additionally, he is a total virgin. He abruptly time-jumps twelve years back to his middle school days while his life is at its lowest point. Hopeless part-timer Takemichi must rise to the top of Kanto’s most evil delinquent gang in order to rescue Hinata and reverse the life he spent running away!
In April 2021, the first Tokyo Revengers television anime series based on Ken Wakui’s manga series debuted. The anime was shown live on Crunchyroll as it was in Japan.
In March 2017, Wakui published the comic in Weekly Shnen Magazine. On November 16, the manga’s serialisation came to a stop. The manga’s 30th and final collected book volume was released by Kodansha on November 17.
Around November 2023, Wakui will unveil a special chapter for the manga, and his Tokyo Revengers Extra offshoot will be serialised in Kodansha’s Weekly Shnen Magazine.
The most popular live-action movie in Japan in 2021 debuted there in July of that year. The two portions of the movie’s sequel will debut in 2023’s spring and summer.
