
Drama and Danger Heat Up in The Fire Hunter TV Anime Preview Video
The Fire Hunter (known in Japan as Hikaru no Oh), an upcoming TV anime based on the fantasy novels written by Reiko Hinata and illustrated by Akihio Yamada about a world where humanity lives in constant danger from fire monsters, has unveiled a dramatic new preview video and the performer of the opening theme song.
Leo Ieiri sings the “Usotsuki” (“Liar”) opening theme for the television show.

Holp Shuppan is the publisher of the original The Fire Hunter books in Japan. According to Crunchyroll, the series’ plot is as follows:
The only people who can defend mankind against the Flame Demons who inhabit the realm beyond the magical walls are the Fire Hunters. One of these expert trackers, Koshi, saves a young villager named Toko from assault in the wilderness where the animals prowl. But despite their chance encounter, a new destiny has begun.

Mamoru Oshii wrote the script for the Fire Hunter TV anime, which was directed by Junji Nishimura and used animation created by signal.MD. Beginning on January 14, 2023, the series will air in Japan on the WOWOW satellite network. It will also be available to watch on Crunchyroll as part of the winter 2023 anime simulcast schedule.
