The English version of the new Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai (Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibken) anime has been uploaded to the Hoopla streaming service. The first 42 episodes of the anime are being streamed through the service.

The anime will be available on the platform on December 27, according to the JustWatch website. As previously announced by Toei Animation, the dub will debut on Hoopla, Microsoft Store, and Vudu on November 8. The English dub of the anime is now being streamed on the BBC iPlayer in the UK.

In October 2020, the anime made its debut. The anime was shown live on Hulu and Crunchyroll as it was in Japan. On October 22, the 100th and final episode of the anime aired.

After the Toei Animation hack in early March, the programme took a break. On April 16, it returned with a brand-new episode.

After the demon ruler Hadlar was vanquished in the tale, all of the monsters were freed from his grip of evil and relocated to the island of Delmurin where they might dwell in peace. On the island, only Dai is a resident. Dai’s ambition is to become a hero when he grows up since he was nurtured by the compassionate monster Brass. He achieves this when Hadlar is revived and Avan, a former hero, shows up to instruct Dai in preparation for the conflict. Hadlar, however, arrives to assassinate Avan and declares that he now works for a demon ruler who is much more powerful. Avan attacks Hadlar with a Self-Sacrifice spell in an attempt to rescue his pupils, but he is unsuccessful. When it looks that Dai and Pop, Avan’s other pupil, are doomed, a mark develops on Dai’s forehead, giving him superhuman abilities that allow him to fight off Hadlar. The two youngsters then set out on a mission to exact revenge on Avan and restore global peace.

The series director at Toei Animation was Kazuya Karasawa, who also directed Dragon Ball Super episodes and storyboarded Dragon Ball Super: Broly. The screenplays for the series were overseen by Katsuhiko Chiba (Rune Soldier, Baby Steps, Tiger Mask W). Character design credit for Maho Girls Precure! goes to Emiko Miyamoto. Art director Ayaka Fujii (of Studio Pablo) was responsible. The song’s composer is Yuki Hayashi. Color design was under the control of Aya Mori. Director of the Dragon Quest series Yuji Horii is credited with overseeing the original manga. The anime, which combined CG and 2D animation, was created by Toei Animation.

From 1989 until 1996, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine published the 37-volume manga. Previously, the manga served as the basis for three short anime films that debuted in July 1991, March 1992, and July 1992, as well as a 46-episode anime series that aired between 1991 and 1992.
