The manga was released in 1994 by Aoyama. In addition to an accompanying anime film series, the manga has inspired a television anime that has been airing since 1996. Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine (Iron Submarine), the 26th movie in the series, will premiere in Japan on April 14.
Meitantei Conan Keisatsu Gakk Hen Wild Police Story (Detective Conan: Police Academy Arc Wild Police Story), Detective Conan: Hannin no Hanzawa-san, and Detective Conan: Zero no Tea Time are three spinoff comics for the series that recently served as inspiration for anime adaptations.
