The Nohara family sets out for Tokyo from their hometown of Kusakabe to see the brand-new movie “Shin Shiri Marudashi” (New Butt’s Out). This is where the special episode’s story starts. The family travels to Tokyo even though the film is also showing in Kusakabe to remember Shinnosuke’s father Hiroshi seeing the first movie in the series there when he was a little child and to attend the talk show event where franchise star Momoko Tokiwada will make an appearance. However, a certain incident sends Shinnosuke back in time thirty years, when he meets his father Hiroshi, who was five years old at the time. They both get involved in a scheme involving Momoko Tokiwada, who was making her acting debut at the time.

While her daughter Honoka Inoue will speak for Momoko in the past, Kikuko Inoue will speak for Momoko in the present (bottom image above).
