Chainsaw Man: [SPOILER] Confirms They’re Still the Best Character

A dramatic Chainsaw Man return sees a fan-favorite character take center stage in a way that only they can, and it’s wonderful.

Chainsaw Man: [SPOILER] Confirms They're Still the Best Character

The much-loved Power is being revived by Chainsaw Man, and it is as thrilling and endearing as it is terrible. Power makes a victorious comeback in a manner that she alone can after being killed by Makima, although in a different form. Power shines despite seeming to revert to her terrifying dread of Makima while endangering her life to rescue Denji.

Denji’s mind contains a piece of Power as Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil’s dog form, taps her awake with a crucial request. Power knows Pochita but is perplexed as to how they are conversing if she is dead. Pochita reveals that the little quantity of her blood that Denji previously ingested is what she is in right now. Despite her prowess as the Blood Devil, he cautions Power that she will soon vanish. Pochita suggests that she consume him in order to resurrect as a Devil as a result.

Power gladly accepts Pochita’s offer, anxious to have the opportunity to rescue her buddy, even if Denji’s life is on the line. Power makes an appearance as Chainsaw Man spits blood from his lips as Makima gets ready for her presumed win against the Chainsaw Devil. Power transforms into a tall, four-armed being with a canine-like face and begins to move. She summons numerous bladed weapons from inside Makima and her whole crew using her abilities as the Blood Devil.

Power, who introduces herself as “the strongest,” then launches her “Thousand Tera Blood Rain,” a torrent of blood-blades that cover Makima in a hail of swords. She exclaims that Makima is garbage as she presses on with her attack, clearly displaying some resentment in her comments and speaking in the most potent of ways. Unfortunately, Makima has power over a number of devils, including the zombie devil, which she employs to revive her fallen team and assault Power.

The Control Devil aims at Power’s arm and completely blasts it off, swinging the fight Makima’s way. Power is obviously in agony, but Makima wants to know how she survived being slain. Power grabs Chainsaw Man and immediately says, “This is mine,” instead of responding. Makima then shoots Power with the explosive ability once again.

Because of Makima’s skill as the Control Devil, Power has always had a strong dread of her. Even today, Power is easily sliced with butter by Makima’s unsettlingly calm orders. When Makima gives Power the opportunity to become her pet once again in exchange for handing over Chainsaw Man, the anxiety in her eyes is replaced with joy. Power does a full about-face and declares that Makima was the one who first grabbed him.

Power sincerely cares for Denji, and although though she returned with the intention of saving her buddy, it is understandable that she would seem uneasy when Makima approached her. Power aspires to be appreciated in the same manner as Denji yearns for meaningful relationships, which he often pursues in his pursuit of Makima. Power, though, forsakes Makima for the first time in order to protect Denji.

Despite seeming to have a change of heart, Power takes Denji and hides him in a garbage to save him. Denji attempts to say he’s already lived a good enough life to die, and without Power, it won’t be the same, in a really emotional exchange between the two of them. She explains to Denji that, unlike Devils, she won’t remain the same after death. Nevertheless, Power makes a pact with Denji in exchange for her blood and gives him instructions to track down the Blood Devil and revert them to Power.

Power’s sacrifice reaffirms not just that she and Denji are the series’ finest couple but also that Power is one of Chainsaw Man’s greatest characters. It is reminiscent of the beginning of the series, when Pochita offered his heart to rescue Denji — trash and all. As welcome as Power’s return was, and as bombastic as she always was, she also gave Denji something significant to look for once again.
