Cai Chang Posts Chinese-Subtitled Trailer for BokuAi, KimiAi Films
The anime adaptations of Yomiji Otono’s Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e (To Every You I’ve Loved Before) and Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e (To Me, The One Who Loved You) books started streaming a Chinese-subtitled teaser on Wednesday. On February 10, the screenings will start concurrently in Taiwan.

On October 7, both movies had simultaneous releases in Japan. In its first weekend, Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e rated at #10 and Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e at #9.
Different directors and animation companies work on each film. Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e at BAKKEN RECORD was directed by Jun Matsumoto (Brothers Conflict, Night Raid 1931). Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e was directed by Kenichi Kasai (Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile, Amanchu!) at TMS Entertainment. Both movies’ scripts were written by Riko Sakaguchi (The Tale of the Princess Kaguya, Mary, and The Witch’s Flower), while both movies’ character design conceptions were ascribed to shimano (JK Haru is a Sex Worker in Another World book cover art). Both movies’ soundtracks were written by Takashi Ohmama (Castle Town Dandelion, Dances with the Dragons, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury).
For Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e, Keina Suda sings the theme song “Kumo o K” (Love the Clouds), while Saucy Dog sings the theme song “Shion” (Aster) for Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e.
The two science fiction romance books by Otono were published on the same day in June 2016. Both are complementary to one another yet may be interpreted any way. The novels are set in a world where crossing over to parallel universes is a regular occurrence.
Koyomi Takasaki, a youngster who moves in with his mother after his parent’s divorce, is the main character in Boku ga Aishita Subete no Kimi e. In his new college prep school, he makes an effort to make friends, but his social awkwardness paired with the environment’s emphasis on academics prevents him from being successful. One day, his classmate Kazune Takigawa comes up to him and claims to be from World Line 85, where she and Koyomi are in a relationship.
Koyomi Hidaka, a boy whose parents divorced, is the main character of Kimi o Aishita Hitori no Boku e. At his father’s research facility, he meets Shiori Sat, and they start a connection that progressively develops into love. But when their parents decide to get married, everything changes, and they decide to relocate to an other reality where they are not stepsiblings.
