Alice in Borderland Sets Record for Most Hours Viewed in a Week For a Non-English Series

Alice in Borderland’s second season arrived with a bang and broke records during its initial premiere week.
The second season of Alice in Borderland has reportedly broken the record for the most hours seen in a week for a non-English television series, according to Golden (netflixgolden), an official Netflix Twitter account “celebrating the Asian diaspora on Netflix.” The first season clocked in at 18,660,000 hours in the same week that the second season recorded 61,190,000. On December 22, 2022, the second season made its debut.
What is Alice in Borderland?
Alice in Borderland’s first season debuted in December 2020. Arisu, a young guy who wastes his life away at home playing video games, is the protagonist of the novel. He and his closest companions Chta and Karube hide in the restroom after eluding the police, only to find Tokyo deserted when they come out. They become aware that they have unwittingly arrived at the Borderland, where they must engage in a series of life-or-death games. Kento Yamazaki, who portrays Arisu, and Tao Tsuchiya, who plays Usagi, both garnered high reviews for their acting in Season 1’s cinematography and scenes.
After Arisu and his buddies win and survive the first round of games, Season 2 begins. They are now engaged in combat with Borderland residents. The fact that the Kings, Queens, and Jacks have all lived in the Borderland for some time and are skilled at winning the games causes the difficulty and stakes to increase dramatically. Arisu could finally get the answers to his inquiries about the Borderland and their purpose in it if he and his pals succeed in beating the Face Card games.
Alice in Borderland, a manga written and drawn by Haro Aso, started serialisation in Shnen Sunday S in November 2010 and lasted until March 2015, when it moved to Weekly Shnen Sunday and ended in March 2016. From August 2015 to February 2018, Alice on Border Road, a spin-off series by Aso and artist Takayoshi Kuroda, about a female high school student who must participate in lethal survival activities. Arisu is thrown back into the Borderland in Alice in Borderland: Retry, a direct sequel to the first series, with a fresh roster of perilous games and players.
